Why buy a home on Harbour Island?
by Robert Arthur
Ever since Anna and I bought our home in Harbour Island, people have been asking me for tips and leads about property here. So I made the role official by becomming an agent for Coldwell Banker Lightborn Realty in the Bahamas. Come see me at the bakery.
Homes you’ve dreamt of
Most visitors know the routine, when you come to Harbour Island: first you go to the beach, then to the real estate offices. Homes with names like Sunset Harbour, Hidden Mango, TreeTop, and Third Reef whet your appetite and give you an idea of what to expect when you visit them.
An island paradise
All the houses are just steps away from one of the most beautiful and desirable pink sand beaches in the world. If you’ve checked out our site myharbourisland.com, you already know about some of the best diving in this region. The fishing is superb with bonefish on the flats and big game fish just out the cut. We also have world class shopping, and a nice mix of restaurants that range from grilled lobster from a stand on the side of the road to classic Bahamian food served at charming places like The Landing or Runaway Hill Club.
An excellent investment
For you left-brain folks, buying a home here is a good investment that continues to appreciate in value. We are a bit more than an hour from South Florida and about nine hours from London with a short stop in Nassau.
The Bahamas boasts a stable political environment with investor-friendly policies that make it easy to own a home or invest in our tropical paradise. There are no personal, income, inheritance, or corporate tax in the Bahamas; plus our stable infrastructure with modern telecommunications and redundant fiber optic links to the U.S. make this a very desirable place to live.
